2nd doctors appointment

Today was our second doctors appointment. It was pretty uneventful. After waiting about an hour we finally got to see Dr. Bone for about 10 minutes. We did get to hear the heartbeat which was really cool but it did take her a little while to find it with the doppler. Its still pretty early and she said at our next appointment we'll get another ultrasound and will hear the heartbeat better. So we are looking forward to the next appointment on April 2. We will be 15 weeks at that point, so that is pretty exciting! And by the next appointment after that we should be able to find out if we are having a boy or a girl!

Of course Bee is hoping for a boy. I told him the other day that I think we are having a girl and he blurts out, "dont say that!" He says little girls stress him out, he's going to be really protective over any of our daughters. Ha!

In the past few weeks I have felt really nauseated and just yucky. But in the past few days I have started to feel better and can function again! I was taking zofran sparingly and then also started taking unisom before I went to bed. I found it helped me from waking up feeling sick, but I would be so groggy it almost wasn't worth it. I eat colace like candy and it kind of helps.

Happy New Year - Golden Pig

Today is Asian New Year and we will be going to Bee's parents house for dinner. Bee's mom always said we should have a baby in the year of the pig because she was born in that year. So when she found out we were due this year she was very excited and now we are hearing that this is a special year called the year of the Golden Pig. Aparently it's a pretty big deal in Asian countries.

CNN Article

Well good luck year or not, my little golden piggie is keeping me on my toes. Literally as sometimes I have to run to the bathroom because of my nausea. Yuck! Lately the only thing that seems to calm my stomach is the worst thing I could possibly consume, McDonalds chocolate milk shakes and greesy french fries. Why is this the food that I can eat without problem? But all my low fat yogurt, bran cereals, eggs, cottage cheese and fruit make me feel like crap? Shouldn't the healthy stuff make me feel good?

Everyone keeps telling me that I will love pregnancy soon as all this morning sickness crap goes away. Oh and whoever decided to call this morning sickness must never have experienced it, because it doesn't just happen in the morning. It happens morning, afternoon and at night.

Bellylaughs Bee and I have bought several baby books and my favorite by far has been Jenny McCarthy's Belly Laughs. I think I will appreciate this book even more after I give birth because then I'll be able to look back and laugh at how right she was about some things. My favorite chapter so far is the Snail Trail Chapter. You'll have to buy the book to understand. I've explained to some friends of mine who have children and they laughed and said, "yep, I remember that part!"

I think every woman should own this book if for no other reason then to get a good laugh and know they are not alone in these weird changes our bodies are going through.

We are 9 weeks pregnant today.

Peter Pan Peanut Butter

So out goes my peter pan peanut butter after learning that there is a recall on product code 2111. And thats the product code of my peter pan! I'm sure we are fine, but its recommended to throw it away because of possible salmonella contamination. Maybe that's why I was throwing up yesterday. Nah... I attribute that to being pregnant.

I guess i'll be sending Bee to the store to get some Jiffy.

Sick on Valentines Day

We are 8 weeks and 3 days pregnant today. We had pretty smooth sailing the first few weeks, but about 2 weeks ago I started feeling bad. Just nauseated enough and then constipation set in. So prune juice and colace have become my new best friends. I am actually starting to like the taste of prune juice. oh yum!

We were supposed to have dinner with Dayna and Chad tonight but it has been moved until tomorrow. Earlier today I had a lingering headache that started to get worse. Bee had to call my doctor to get a Rx for migraine medicine that would be ok for me to take. After throwing up scrambled eggs, Bee finally was able to get my medicine which helped a lot!

Yesterday he gave me my valentines day gift. We went to this baby boutique and I saw this bag I had seen on the Discovery Health show "yummy mummy". So he went back to the boutique and bought the Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag for me. It is called "fortune cookie" but it has humming birds all over it, not fortune cookies. Ha!

We had our first appointment on January 31st. It went pretty well. Bee came and got to see first hand what us women have to go through at each annual appointment. We got to see the baby, affectionately named "pea" on the ultrasound. In one of the pictures the yolk sac and baby look like a diamond ring.

We also got to hear the heartbeat which was really cool! Overall it was a great appointment... but I should mention I passed out when the took my blood. That was embarrassing. The girl first tried one arm twice but my vein just wasn't cooperating. So then she tried the other arm. I didn't think she got it so I turned and looked and there was the needle sticking out of my arm. Blood doesn't bother me, but needles sticking out of my body do!
